New Years at the Dunes!

It had been a couple of years since we went to the dunes as a family,
so we figured it was time to head back out there!
Preparing to leave is no small task.
And this was the longest we have gone, 4 nights and 5 days.
We rented an RV this time around.
I wish every road trip could be in an RV!
Kids happily entertained in the back watching movies.
I got to sit up front with Casey and the ipad:)
3 hours of un interrupted Gilmore Girls, yes please!

We got there late Tuesday night so we pretty much just got settled and
chatted with the rest of the group that was already there.
The next few days were full of playing with cousins, getting dirty,
watching new movies, drinking lots of pop, and rides in the razor!

These two LOVED the drivers seat.

heading out for the first big ride!

At the drags.

We had one cold day where we FROZE!!
So, so cold.

See, Lindi's face was half frozen!

We camped with Travis and Sunni and their group of people they always go with.
My parents and siblings and their friends came up the next day and camped right next to us.
My mom and dad showed up New Years Eve around 8 o'clock.
We had to welcome them with a marshmallow war!
It's starting to become a tradition.
We set off some Chinese lanterns.

ooh

ahh

And at the stroke of midnight you torch the Christmas trees and toast
with some Martenelli's.
Lindi was sound asleep in the RV at 8pm.
Rusty crashed on my lap around 11:30 and Lane
was the big winner and stayed awake till midnight for the first time ever!
I'm sure it wasn't difficult for him with all of that sugar he had eaten that day pumping through his system.

And of course even with them staying up late they still seemed to wake up at the
chirpy early morning hours. Blah!
I wish their was an internal alarm clock wired in each child so you could pick
what time you wanted them to wake up.
But you can't waste any time and need to get as much riding done as possible!
Sunni and I rode double on this ride.
Wow, I must have aged a lot because it was freaking hard to hold on for dear life!
I almost got thrown off a dozen times.
I officially retired riding double!

The whole gal gang!
My mom, me, Lindi, Marcie, Makaylee, Sunni, Whitney, Diana, and Mary!

Lindi wanted to hold the "baby" (Ryder). Haha.

We were hooked on the card game 5 crowns.
The girls would gather and play while the boys were out riding.

My mom took both Lane and Rusty out separately in the RzR for a ride.
They loved it!
They rode out to the duner's diner then head back to camp.

You would think being out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by sand that
you would feel desolate. NOPE! The ice cream man knows how to make some money
on big families! Thanks for buying, dad!

last night at the drags.

My mom bought some sand rail toys at the shops down the road.
Craig and Rusty played with them for almost 2 hours!

The dunes will always have a place in our hearts!!

Your comment about Lindi's face being half-frozen was hilarious!
