We actually carved pumpkins this year! We cheated and took them over
to Casey's parent's house so we didn't have to make a mess at our place:)
We figured it would be more fun carving with Papa and Grammy anyway.

After carving 2, Casey smarted up and busted out the power tools... so much easier!

My parents neighborhood throws a really fun carnival the week of Halloween. Lane had a blast even if it was minus zero degrees that night ( well at least it seemed like it was that cold!).

Trick or Treat! This year was a really fun Halloween. I think it was because I didn't stress about costumes, spend money, it was on the weekend and it turned out really low key which I think is the way it should be. We all remember this episode from last year:

I wasn't about to buy a single darn thing for a costume this year. Let's face it, until a kid can request what they want to be for Halloween, it's more for the parents entertainment. I started racking my brain for cheap ideas that he would maybe wear just to get a picture. Also so he wouldn't blame me later in life that he never got to dress up as a child. After a little thinking this is what I came up with:

a spray painted swim diaper,

with his lifeguard T-shirt he wears every other day, accessorized with a whistle and what was suppose to be bleach blonde hair but turned neon green once sprayed
on...nice. David Hasselhoff you better watch out!

Just as I thought the speedo lasted a whole 5 minutes till he stripped it off and ran around in his diaper the rest of the night. I have high hopes he will wear a real costume next year!

We also visited my very groovy parents. They seriously crack me up! My mom loves Halloween and can totally get into it.

Her Halloween candy bowl has a motion sensor hand that moves when you grab

for your candy. Lane wasn't digging it so much.

Here is me in all my glory at 35 weeks prego. Such a bad time to be at the end of your pregnancy surrounded by tons of candy.

Don't be jealous of our costumes! I thought it would have been fun to be Heidi Klum and Seal, even though she already had her baby. I was pretty sure Casey wouldn't go for that (most likely because he doesn't even know who those people are) but it would have been cool to see what he would look like as a crater face black man:)

Other contributors that made for such a fun Halloween go to: Sonic's 50 cent corn dogs, my moms yummy taco soup, the song "Thriller" playing in the background and Casey not being able to put his finger on who sings this song and why it sounds so familiar, my dad trying to talk seriously in his hippy get- up while eating popcorn and his stash is falling off, my 8 year old brother Craig tearing up the dance floor and crashing the high school kids party at the neighbors house.
