Spring Break!

We managed to keep busy all week long on our week off!

I was coordinating a play date with the Goodman cousins when it dawned
on me that Lindi's birthday was the next week.
I turned the play date into her birthday party!
Nothing like hitting 2 birds with 1 stone last minute.

She picked to go to Jakes Unlimited.
It has totally been redone since the last time I had been there.
I was impressed!
It felt clean and safe.
The food was mediocre, but other than that these girls could have stayed all day!

We came back to the house for some hot tub time!

Miche text the day before offering for us to use their inflatable hot tub for the week.
They had it thrown over the fence, inflated, and filled in no time.
It turned into the best Spring Break treat!

They spent the whole afternoon out there, bouncing back and forth
from cold to hot water.

Grandma bought us resort day passes to the Grand!
We look forward to it every year.
Funny how these kids have a routine for this place,
and even have the menu memorized!
They set up their towels and placed their lunch order with me before taking off to get their
first sunburns for the season.

I am finally in the sweet spot.
No puddle jumpers or tiny ones to really worry about.
They pal with their age group and keep each other company while I sit and enjoy myself.
They have the place saturated in life guards which also is a comfort.

Chocolate sundae with gummy bears and prickly pear pina colada.
Can you guess who's is who's?

The nachos. Oh the nachos!
A fan favorite.

Casey turned FORTY!!!

We headed to the airport to board our much anticipated flight to celebrate in Bora Bora!
......IF ONLY!

His special day was quite the opposite.

I kept asking him if he wanted to go somewhere, or had a special gift in mind?
Nothing. I want nothing.
I kept badgering, and getting the same response.

Fine. Fiiiiineeee. Nothing it is.

Which was killing me to not have anything grand planned for the man
who deserves all the luxurious vacations in the world!
He does so much for us, and for others.

I had to make him feel a little bit special.
It is such a big milestone birthday!

One of my friends sons have a little sign company.
I paid them to set this up the night before.

His response to the neighbors birthday texts:
Glad I get to work extra hard on my birthday to pay for this. (Palm to forehead).

He really would have skipped the whole day if he could have.
Not because of the age, he could care less about how old he is.
He really just hates attention!

I honestly couldn't even tell you what is in that wrapping.
It was mainly for the girls sake.
Dad NEEDS a gift, mom!!

A love how much they care about him and his feelings.
I think they were as excited for him to open it as if it was their own present!

We went to dinner and called it a Birthday!

The week prior he was on a pretty cool guys trip.
Nothing birthday related. Just happened to be good timing.
Which did make me feel a little better that
I didn't make it super exciting or memorable.

He went to Wyoming with my cousins Jonathon and Jimmy.
They know a really good snowmobiling teacher who takes you out
to the avalanche country and teaches you how to professional ride a snowmobile.
Apparently they don't mess around with a scenic way of teaching.
I got a text saying he was having a blast, even though it got pretty hairy at some points.

There was a group of about 8 guys on the trip and from his super long report (wink),
it sounded like a good time and he learned a lot!

Since I don't know details, I'll just post pictures I snagged from his phone.

A new day, a new group of hot tubbers and sun worshipers!

Rusty was the lucky one who got invited on a couple of fun different trips!
We only saw him one day out of the week.

He went with his buddy, Trey, and his family to Las Vegas to see their niece play
basketball for BYU in their playoff game.

I love that he has become an extension to their family.
Trey is the baby, so Rusty gets invited to many things with them.
We love the Bosens!

He came home, spent the day at the Grand with us, then took off to go snowboarding
with Travis, Collin and Weston!

He had a rockin' Spring Break!

Marcie told us that Walker Hayes was performing at the Ostrich Festival!
Umm, YES!!
Fancy Like in the flesh!

I had never been to the Ostrich Festival in all my life of hearing about it on the radio.
It was out in Chandler, not too far away.
And it was a legit mini State Fair!
They had all the big food vendors, rides, you name it.

Boy, did we partake of all of the food!
We had tears rolling down our cheeks right about the time we took our funnel
cakes down the path to the soft serve trailer.
We asked if we could get a big ol' dollop of vanilla smack dab in the middle.
She gave us a half second stare of, are you serious?
But then grabbed our plates and said we were basically geniuses!
Yes, yes we are!

Before said ice cream addition.
And after the taco truck dinner.
And yes, Stephanie is holding crepes.
YOLO!

These 6 cousins were all born the same year.
We are at the last baptism of the bunch for sweet Hank.
What a fun time to see these kiddos grow up!

These 5 were also born the same year.
Big families are the best!

Notice the non existent Lane in any pictures?
He was busy working, at baseball practice and you guessed it, hanging with friends.
Teenagers!

Spring (sports) Time!

Lane had his very first high school baseball game!
I got there and couldn't believe my eyes.
They basically looked like college guys to me.
A drastically different environment than Little League ages.
Which was all that we really knew!

He seemed so grown up.
Well, he kind of is!
Gahhh, change is weird.
But I'm loving it.
He is loving it!

He is on the JV team, and is their starting short stop.
Which is pretty good considering he is a Freshman, and there
are quite a few Sophomores, even Jr's on the team who don't start.

He tried pitching, but his shoulder was injured from a muscle pull.
Kind of a bummer.
We had him with a private pitching coach, and I was hopeful he could do more of it.
It took the whole season to feel better.
He will be ready for next year!

I literally stopped my car and got out to capture the painting in the sky!
It was moody, swirly, and gorgeous!

The elementary school had their relay race for all grades.
Lindi and Rusty both qualified to represent their classroom!

Somebody was tired.

Rusty wrapped up flag football.
Undefeated at that!

His last game was WINDY and COLD!

Those clouds though...

They took 1st in their tournament!

Neighborhood BBQ!

Notice the sky, once again.

And jackets! I felt like we had a more windy than usual Spring this year.

The relief society committee and I had an activity.
It was "Favorite Things" themed.

I was pretty proud of our charcuterie display!

Della had her very last preschool field trip before moving on to Kindergarten.
And my last preschool field trip for that matter!

I definitely felt like the old mom in the group amongst the pregnant, young moms.
No baby or stroller in tow.
Just my keys and phone!
Such a phenomenon.
I'm crossing over to the next phase of life in a short few months!

We went to the Idea museum.
A place a spent my childhood at.
Full circle.

The only picture is a terrible one, of course.
