Sailing into his 30's

Yep, that's right. As of Saturday March 10th, I am married to a 30 year old man! I still can't believe it. I think in my heart we will be forever 21 but tis not the case. Unlike Peter Pan, we must grow up and get...old. I am slowly learning that ageing is a good thing. One thing I do know though is that Casey is for sure the cutest 30 year old out there! But I could be biased:)

I wanted to do something big and fun to celebrate like a vacation. I thought of a few places we could go.   Coronado, Vegas, Sedona even Payson. I would book one then change my mind and cancel it. I did that about 2 times. For some reason I was feeling like we shouldn't go out of town, and still don't know why I felt that way. So once I decided we would stay home it helped narrow down my choices. But still his big day was coming closer and closer and I had nothing set in stone except that Stephanie was going to watch the boys all day. Instead of a short story too long (which sorry, it prob already is) here was Casey's big birthday weekend!

Casey requested that we make his birthday cake on Thursday. Since we would be gone all day on his bday, he wanted to eat on it for a few days instead of it going to waste. Wish granted!

On Friday we had a twinner birthday party with Travis and Sunni! You have to celebrate your 30th with your womb mate! Haha. The boys only knew that we were taking them to dinner but left the dessert portion a surprise:) We wanted them to have smooth sailing into their 30's so we rented a boat down at Tempe Town Lake. We brought cherry cheesecake aboard and toasted to their wonderful 29 years of life with Martinelli's. There may have been a mix up with the real deal, or so it seemed!

The boys ended up spending the night at Stephanie's so it was weird going home to an empty house! Don't get me wrong it was nice to have the night all to ourselves without the usual bedtime routine. Not having to do baths was a treat in itself.

The next day was his big birthday! We slept in longer than we thought so we skipped breakfast and had an earlier lunch. I forgot my license and credit card at the boat rental the night before so we went back to Tempe to retrieve it. The Aloha festival was going on so since it took 20 minutes to find a parking spot we walked around for a bit and watched the hula girls shake their hips (truly amazing). Oh and bought 2 raffle tickets to hopefully win a trip to Hawaii. ha. Wish us luck!

We went shopping for a bit then got an hour massage at Happy Feet. Such a wonderful place.

We ended his birthday night at Cheesecake Factory. I think our waiter had a crush on him. Seriously.

Even though we didn't do a huge blowout activity like I originally planned, I feel like it was a success.  We hardly ever get alone time so it was nice being together all day. You can definitely pack in alot without kids.

Oh, and I had to add the card my mom gave him. Hilarious. She finds the best cards!

Happy 30th stud muffin!

Oh my gosh, I'm glad I didn't leave a comment the first time I read it or else I would have missed the card!! That is hysterical! Mom does find the best cards.
What a fun day! He's lucky he has such a creative wifey to plan fun birthday celebrations. That would be awesome to come home and not have to put kids to bed!! It would feel weird to have the house to yourself. And I mean that in a good-weird sort of way!
Happy birthday Casey!! I'll expect lots of words of wisdom from him now that he's so old and mature! :)

Happy birthday Casey!! It all sounded fun in the end :) Now you can save up a trip for another time. Oh and I'm still laughing at the card. For some reason cats are just funny no matter what!

Happy birthday to Casey, late.. but nonetheless. It's weird getting old, but I actually like it too. I feel more confident the older I get and I think you guys are such a cute couple and have aged well. Your hair is ridiculous!! I know you've probably just been pulling it back a lot, but it seems to grow out of no where.
Adam didn't want a big hooray for his birthday either, but it was nice. I can't wait to be back near family so we can do some fun date days like you, all day together.. what a dream :) Adam's been gone all week taking boards and I can't wait for him to be back.
