This is their first year of taking dance.
She hated it so I pulled her out and it was short lived.
They seem to be liking it so we will keep with it for now.
Meaning she can remember the moves the best.
Grandma invited us to the Nut Cracker!
Both girls are in ballet so it helped them
appreciate the show a whole lot more I think.
Plus I hope it gave them some inspiration for them in their own dancing.
The youth did their annual Christmas hayride and caroling for mutual.
They asked Casey to pull them on his trailer.
So the girls thought it was super fun that they got to tag along!
I loved Rusty's snow lantern he made at school.
It's useless trying to find Lindi in that sea of kids, but she's in there somewhere!
Rusty enjoyed playing in the ukulele group.
He is on the left side, fourth one in.
Grandma always loves to hear them sing!
We had the most amazing experience at the re-dedication of the Mesa temple.
Because Casey is on the High Council, they offered
us 2 tickets for us to attend in person.
The week of, our bishop was able to get us 3 more tickets so the kids could come, too.
I didn't think it could get any cooler than being inside the temple WHILE it was being
dedicated! Well, it did.
We were siting in an endowment room close to the Celestial room, where the
broadcast was happening.
We had to get there pretty early, so we had a chunk of time just waiting.
Which was fine with me.
I was loving the spirit of it all.
It's not often you get to sit in the temple with most of your children,
so I was enjoying this time with them.
I'm sure they were feeling the same way, wink.
I was praying for all the things.
That they would be able to feel the spirit and understand what a unique
opportunity this was.
That this could strengthen their own testimonies and importance of the temple,
and have the desire to come back again someday.
And that they would remember this day for forever!
It was getting closer for the meeting to start.
I looked back and noticed some temple workers in white clothes walking in.
They started shaking hands and talking to people.
Then I noticed a familiar face.
I leaned over to Casey and whispered, is that Elder Gong?
It WAS!!!
He walked to the front of the section we were sitting in.
We were about 4 rows back.
He shook the front rows hands.
And some of the second he could reach.
Then he was asking questions to the 3rd row.
Then to us!!!
He asked Rusty what his name was and said nice to meet you, and then to Lindi!
He started walking back towards the middle isle
and started fist pumping more people.
Lane was sitting close to the isle so he got a fist pump from Elder Gong!
It was incredible!
Words can't describe being in the temple with a prophet, seer and revelator
standing right in front of you, and interacting with your children!
The meeting itself was wonderful.
My friends mom was a speaker, so that was fun to listen to.
I know they each felt something special that day.
I hope they never forget it!
My parents happened to be at the same session as us!
I guess they sat downstairs by the new waiting area for weddings where the
kitchen used to be.
or you pay a high price for garbage.
but what do you do?
It was mad chaos down there, so we decided to walk around ourselves.
We had been looking for about 20 minutes when we got a text from his cousin David
asking if we were at the Ford dealership.
Nothing like a family reunion at the dealership!
They were looking at Expeditions for her.
cars with them while Casey signed paperwork!
I was in charge of Lindi's Christmas class party.
Her teacher said she loves to make snow globes with her classes, and its always a hit.
Plus she had all of the materials and had it down to an art by now.
It sounded like a nightmare to me, but sure, if you want to!
What do you know, she tested positive for covid
earlier in the week and wouldn't be there for the party.
I would have to run the craft myself, agh!
I started scouring pinterest on tutorials for theses dang
globes that use WATER, GLUE, and GLITTER. Oi!
It didn't help that the substitute teacher was ancient and so old school.
Her step by step instructions just for washing hands to eat pizza could make a sloth angry!
We ain't got time for this.
I think I was giving her a heart attack by the time the party was over.
And luckily other parents starting trickling in to help speed up the process.
I took them outside to get their wiggles out and played Run Run Rudolph (duck duck goose).
I also played a music guessing game with them that they really enjoyed.
We survived the snow globes!
Once or twice a month my mom invites Della and Scarlett over for a play date.
They LOVE this!!
They color, play dress up, eat snacks and basically live on the driveway
riding scooters and bikes.
My friend was smart and reserved a big group of spots at Feed My Starving Children
a few months ago. She asked if some of the neighbors wanted to join them.
Umm, YES!
We needed some service in our lives.
Once we got there, Della was so confused.
As we were watching the intro video on what the whole charity is about,
Della leaned over and asked "but WHY can't they feed themselves??"
She totally thought we were about to actually go feed kids back behind that wall!
I could hardly contain myself!!
Service is good for the soul!
It made me think that every year during our break we need to serve at least once.
Excited about this!
