I took off with the girls the week before the 4th of July.

Stephanie was joining me with her 2 youngest to stay with us at our place!
Let me tell you, traveling with 2 kids is a BREEZE!
Bless that we have finally hit this stage of life!
I caught up to Stephanie around Zions and she took this picture of my car not know that I had just
done the same, lol!
The plan was to spend the night in Provo.
We hit up Cubby's for dinner and then grabbed ice cream at the Creamery while
we desperately searched for a hotel to crash at.
Gone are the days that you can just role into a hotel and ask for a room!!
We were striking out big time.
We saw that there was availability at Provo Marriott Conference Center so at
11pm we pulled in. I stayed with the cars and kids while Stephanie checked it out.
She was taking longer than usual when I got a text for me to come in.
Instead of handing over a credit card, she was chatting it up with my cousin Trennon and
his wife CarriAnn!
CarriAnns dad is Elder Alvarado, a General Authority 70!
I have met them before but it was fun talking to them because they were giving us the inside scoop.
All of the General Authorities were currently staying at this hotel on level 3.
We had JUST missed elder Soares who was in the lobby in his jammies watching the World Cup.
DANG IT!!
They were there because ALL of the new Mission presidents and their wives were
at the MTC being trained.
They were there assisting in the training.
They speak Spanish as they raised their family in Puerto Rico.
They had met my cousin Jenny and Randy who were headed to Tijuana.
Then it clicked!
Lanes new president was in this rotation!
I asked about the Xalapa mission and he said yes, they are there!!
He grabbed their booklets for the week and quickly flipped to Pres and Hermana Prieto's bio
and picture, and then pulled me in for a picture! Haha.
You can see Jenny and Randy underneath theirs.
I told him to give the Prieto's a hug for me the next day.
Elder Alvarado is the BEST and SO friendly!
After the hoopla, the front desk lady said no rooms, HA!
On to the next!
We decided to make our way out of Provo.
Only I took the wrong road and were leading us up the Canyon which does NOT
have anything until Midway, oi!
We were delirious at this point and I honestly thought we would be sleeping in our cars.
I needed gas, so I pulled into a random station and kept dialing hotel after hotel.
Finally we found one!!!
Only one room was available but I didn't care, we would make it work.
After checking in the lady said not 2 seconds after I called a man walked in asking for a room.
We barely beat him to it!!
We crammed in best we could.
I shared the king with my girls while Stephanie and Tanner slept on the sofa bed
and Olive on the floor with the couch cushions as a "mattress".
It worked!
We planned to drive to Wyoming in the morning, but played hooky
and hit up the Provo Rec center first!
I love this place!
The kids loved it, too.
The swimming made them crash hard!
55 degrees in June say what?!!
There was the loveliest storm rolling in as we got closer to the house.

We ran over to my parents house where they had a crew of families.
Stetson was knocked out on the couch after he and Nora pounded half
a bottle of melatonin gummies!
We spent the days being lazy!
This is what summer in Wyoming is all about!
The night hours were burned!
I would look at my watch to see it was 9pm and complete daylight.
I don't think we went to bed earlier than midnight each night.
I don't think the kids woke up earlier than 10am!
It was LOVELY!
We would eventually mosey over to my parents place each day and just hang out!
We would throw in a few "field trips" here and there.

We spent a day in Jackson Hole.
I had never been to Teton Village.
It was fun to go to the top at get Corbets Waffles!

Except, we only packed 1 jacket each.
Should have sprung for a Jackson Hole sweater instead of a shirt!
I froze my fanny off for a few days.
You would have thought we had a blizzard, the kids were full of excitement picking up the huge
pieces of hail!
