Lane has made the transition from crib to big boy bed very well! I was expecting it to be really hard for him, but he proved me wrong! The very first night he hopped right in, gave us kisses and snoozed the night away! We haven't had any problems. So without further ado, here is Lanes BIG BOY ROOM!
Oh, I guess we have run into one problem with the new bed. You see, Lane is a roller like me while he sleeps. Unlike his dad who lays down and wakes up in the same position in the morning. I was worried about him rolling off in the middle of the night and breaking his arm or something. I know there are side rails you can buy and attach onto the bed. However, being the cheap person that I am, I decided that you might as well learn young where the edge of your bed is:) I think he has it figured out now but for about 3 nights when I went to check on him, I found him all nice and comfy on the floor.
Poor thing. So recently every night when I tuck him in I say " hey, if you roll off your bed while you are sleeping, don't stay on the floor! Get up and get back in your bed!" The first time I told him this I think it clicked because his face read "oh ok, that makes sense". So for the past few morning when he yells at me to get him up (yes, he WAITS for me to come get him out! BLESSED CHILD!) he first informs me that he is not on the floor. Such a little cutie!
Part 2 of our revamping was a new home for the computer!
When you live in a 1500 sq ft. home and all the rooms are taken up, you
have to get a little creative to accommodate everything. Once again, thanks to Casey
and his mad skills, he build a little computer nook at the end of our hallway. If you have been in our house before, it's in the corner between the laundry room door and the entertainment center. I have been trying to describe it to a few people but they couldn't quite grasp how and where that would work so hopefully that helps you picture it a little bit better.
wasn't going to be able to decorate the nursery pink, I took the plunge (with Casey's permission first) and actually did it! I was kind of nervous since this is a main part of the house and didn't know if it would all flow together with my other decor but I really like how it all turned out. The chandelier is my personal favorite:) Well it's a tie between my $5 Goodwill chair the we repainted and re-upholstered.

I love all of it! Lane's room is super cute/studly and I'm happy for you that you have some girly space in your house. :)
Are you kidding....his room is so cute!!!! I love it. I love that you are willing to let your kid break his arm to teach him to stay on the bed =) I agree they have to learn sometime. Ok the pink nook is the cutest thing I have ever seen. You are a great decorator and should go pro!!! Tell Casey good job..... one day I want him to teach me all he knows.
Cute cute cute! Love his room. Love even more that he would fall off the bed and stay there. Funny stories! I love the personality of that little boy.
If your on a tight budget and still came out with that cute cute bedroom you're dang good at spending wisely. You're pink nook is my fav still once I saw it last week I wanted to do my whole bedroom like that I'm in love with the chandelier! Tell Lane I miss him :( he was so fun to play with I love how much he talks now. Actually I miss you ALL cant wait to come home again.
Very cute Shelley! I really love the computer nook! It all turned out so great! Enjoy Lane staying in his bed while it lasts because eventually he'll be doing cannon balls in your bed to wake you in the morning! Hey, thanks again for coming out for Cale's bday- it really meant a lot to me! Thanks for being a good friend!
O...where to begin...LOVE Lanes curtains, picture frames, bed...LOVe LOVe...the powder pink, letting Lane learn about the edge of his bed, Caseys mad skills...LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE...that chandelier, the chair, the fancy shmancy wood work.
Basically...I love everything you do. Come over and teach me everything you know. And hurry.
Play date?
I absolutely love the valance on Lane's window (did you make it?) and the nine little square frames over his dresser! So cute! My boys are all rollers, too. Somehow they learn not to roll out of bed (although Luke is almost 6 and rolls halfway off the couch all the time)! Can't wait to see your little one!
you HAVE to tell me where you got that chandelier. I have been dying to know where to get one of those.
I love all of it. Your so good at that stuff! I love the picture of lane on the floor. I hope when the time comes, that Casen will transition to a big boy bed just as well.
Dare I say it's all perfect?! I especailly love the nook. I couldn't figure out if you had a picture hung up above your desk or if that was indeed a computer screen. Genius. You two are really a great team. And I love home plate on a shelf. Love love love.
I love his room! Nice work:) I am sooo jealous of your pink nook! I would never get permission;), you are one lucky girl:)
