Fixy Fix

Last post I mentioned we painted the house. Here are the pictures of our proof:)

Since we live in one of those wonderful we run your life HOA communities, we only had 3 different paint options to choose from. The one we choose had the most drastic light and dark contrasts. It looks better in person. I need to throw some colorful flowers in the pots to brighten the place up. That nappy tree will be a goner soon too!

I should have figured that painting the house would lead into some more projects, because it did. When we get going we sure do now how to catch the DIY bug.
One fine day (last week) Casey brought home some cabinets off a job that the owners were going to junk. Off the subject, I have scored some pretty good things from jobs Casey has done.  A huge shelf that is now in Lanes room, a jogging stroller, anywho, it's like Christmas when he does. So he pulls up with the cabinets and we instantly knew where they were going to be put.

I have always had partial feelings to my laundry room. I have never loved it or hated it. It was just the laundry room, nothing special.  I am always looking for more storage space and we have pretty much maxed out every room in the house except that one. So that very day our laundry room got an exciting makeover. It was kind of fun doing it spur of the moment and not really knowing what I wanted and to just go with the flow. I really like how it turned out and of course wish we had done it years ago!

Choosing the cabinet color was the hardest part. I couldn't decide if i wanted cream cupboards with a brown glaze and paint the walls a fun bright color or going bold with the cupboards and having neutral walls. My inspiration finally came from a purse at Junky Trunk! You better believe I went straight to Home Depot for paint samples then back to the store to match the purse. The cute girl that worked there was hilarious. She had the purse and samples out by the window holding it up to the light to try and see which samples matched best. I was grateful for her help. I always doubt myself. I also really like the handles from Hobby Lobby.

It's amazing what a little TLC can do.  I need to go get some Cheer laundry detergent because cheers to having more storage space!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT ALL! Now I really need you and Casey to do my laundry room cabinets that have been up for a year now with no doors because I was "going to paint!" oh DIY Do It Yourself :) You two are one amazing DIY team that's for dang sure.

Um SO CUTE! Your house should be in a magazine. I wish we lived in AZ so we could invest in Casey's remodeling talents. The handles on the cabinets are my favorite! Oh and when I googled DIY it was funny because do it yourself didn't pop up (but obviously thats what it means) but i guess there's also a DIY network that is all about remodeling. I learned something new today.

Seriously kids, you are killing me! LOVE the new laundry room! That is my least favorite room in our house too. We have been wanting to do cabinets forever! Maybe this will help with the inspirations! You would laugh at our current laundry room haha.
Love you guys!

Your laundry room makes me want to die!!! It is so stinkin cute! Can we trade goods for goods? I want to steal Caseys DIY skills for Blakes hunting/fishing/camping/shooting hookup at sportsmans warehouse. Fair trade? (okay, maybe mostly beneficial to Casey.)
Good work! I love a good before and after!

SO fun! I love your junky trunk story haha which girl was it?? There's one in particular I love to talk to when I go in, she's super funny. Sooo I'm thinking whenever I get married I'm going to have to move into the house next door to you so when people come to visit me I can just take them into your house and pretend like it's mine since I will never be able to create such a cute house like yours!
