I probably should write about the end of the school year before the
new one starts in 2 weeks!!
Rusty had his end of the year field trip at DeWitt Stables.
They walked around and saw all the horses, cows,
sheep and such. Then they all went on a hay ride!
It's the same hay ride we went on with my family the day after Christmas.
Lindi didn't want anything to do with this ride.
She was so distraught and wouldn't stop crying.
So I hopped off and decided to hang back while they were gone.
Which ended up not being so bad!
The mull would not budge when it was time to go.
The man was whipping and whipping that thing.
It would go for a second then stop.
He hopped off and went to get a larger stick to whip him with.
That didn't work either.
Next think I know he pulled out what was like a 2x4 to whack him into gear!
Yikes!
The hay trailer was jolting and rocking, I think everybody was about to bail but that
seemed to do the trick!
On the very last day of preschool they have a fun water day.
I actually kind of like that they don't do a graduation ceremony.
Makes it not as emotional that they are growing up and moving onto big kid school.
He had the best teachers, Ms. Dana, Lori and Kimball.
Rusty also had his last day of play group.
It was so sad! It's like the end of an era!:)
3 years of rotating Thursday mornings so we could have a couple hours
of peace and quiet was GOLDEN!
They are the best of friends and luckily we still see them often:)
Left to Right :
Riley Barton, Trey Bosen, Lily Yamamoto, Rusty, Hayden Dixon
Misty hosted the last day and of course she went all out!
Lane had his Spring Sing which he was SO EXCITED ABOUT!
Ok, not so excited about...shocker with that one.
Bribery of ice cream after and saying he didn't have to wear a tie or church pants got him there.
I'm sure Mr. Higgins was thrilled at his attire, OH WELL!
I, like an idiot, once AGAIN signed up to be in charge of Lanes end of the year party!
I never learn my lesson from the past.
It didn't help that we were finishing up a remodel, moving AND leaving for girls camp 3
days later.
Even though it stresses me out, I do love seeing Lane with his friends and being in his classroom.
This is the only picture I got of the party. It was before it even started.
He doesn't let me get pictures of him with his teacher so I had to be sneaky:)
Mrs. Rathkey is amazing and I am so grateful for teachers who love their
students and their job. I did another beach themed party that had 5 rotations.
The trickiest part was coming up with treats that have to be dairy, egg, wheat, and nut free!!!
Holy allergy problems batman.
I thought about getting a snow cone machine but that was too complicated.
So Otterpops, Oreos (crazy how those fit the allergy diet), and fruit roll ups were on the menu!
They learned the hula, played hula hoop games outside, played play dough dictionary, and made paper leis. Whoa, sure glad when that hour was over!
BASEBALL got wrapped up!
Rusty loved every second of his T-ball season.
When he would walk up to bat he would yell at me to make sure I was
watching and cheering him on!
Lindi had to sit next to Michelle at every game.
It was kind of funny.
Last team cheer and shaking hands.
Right after the last game we gathered real quick to hand out awards.
I was the team mom so I made little goodie bags for them to go along with their
trophy. I ordered cupcakes with baseball rings on top from Sam's Club and called it a party!
Here are his play group buddies, minus Riley.
They moved to Gilbert and were out of league boundaries:(
Here is Lane on first base with his best friend Griffen playing first.
It was kind of a bummer they get "drafted" on teams now.
Lanes team made it to championships and got second place!
I was at girls camp and missed it, I was so sad!
It looks like a bum!
Lane got his Bobcat award!
The cub master told the boys to choose their mom or dad to come to the front with them.
He read some kind of ceremonial while the dads painted symbolism marks on their faces.
Its a good thing they chose the dads because the boys got to paint on their noses!
For Mothers day Casey treated me to a pedicure!
I love that he enjoys getting one with me.
This was after dinner on Mothers day Sunday with all us hawt momma's!:)
Some Olive and Lindi pictures.
Her parents went to Hawaii so we spent some time with her.
I love that they both have blankies and suck their thumbs!
This was on the way home from Ikea.
I was checking out their farm sink.
I forget how big that store is!
They got lugged around so much with me going from tile store, to Home Depot,
to a different tile store, to the countertop store... They were such good sports.
But I guess Ikea wore them out that day.
They probably were more thankful to be done remodeling than I was!
