Excitement was high to have Scarlett Figueroa join our family!
Lindi calls her baby carlett whenever she sees her and is referring to her:)
We threw Marcie a baby shower back in May!
It was on a Saturday morning-ish.
Casey was on the fathers and sons campout which meant Lindi was with me.
I was really kind of nervous to bring her to the shower.
She is a wild card.
You never know how clingy or whinny she will get.
Especially around lots of strangers.
I took a risk and brought her.
Thankfully she was an angel and LOVED every minute of the party!
Here she is helping grandpa roll in the garbage bins.
Stephanie was taking Marcie's picture and Lindi hopped in with her!
She was being such a hoot!
Stephanie headed up the décor and boy, she went all out!!
It couldn't have turned out cuter.
I mean, that garland and tulle table skirt... adorable!
She even made the diaper cake on the food table.
She is the next Martha Stewart!
Alison, Stephanie, my mom and I split up the food menu.
Salads, cookies, dips, cupcakes, sandwiches, oh my!!
Marcie was even nice to help out at her OWN shower!
She made these super cute take home gifts and killer mint brownies.
Grandmother wasn't up for staying so Marcie ran out to say hi to her.
I was inside getting things ready when Lindi walked back in holding a 20 dollar bill!
I guess when Grandmother runs out of candy to pass out you get the next best thing!
Marcie mentioned she was nervous that nobody would come.
Ha! I had never seen a more packed house!
This was seriously the cutest thing.
Lindi was helping Alison write down all of the gifts Marcie was getting.
And ooing and aweing over all of Scarlett's new outfits!
I swear that girl is my favorite.
I literally didn't see or hear a peep from her the whole time.
She kept herself busy wondering around, grabbing food off of the table,
and hanging out with whoever was sitting next to her.
She is truly a party girl!!
Sunni showed up with a new, short haircut!
We are married to twins and now look somewhat like twins!
I think Scarlett needs a few more outfits:)
I was surprised to get a text from Marcie saying her water
broke and was on the way to the hospital...2 weeks early!!
It was a Tuesday morning.
I was on our way to get breakfast (since we still didn't have a working kitchen)
and then pick up the kids from swim team.
I figured I had time because things usually go slow.
Well, I was wrong!
I got a call from Austin saying the baby would be coming in about 30 minutes
and that Marcie really wanted me at the birth. YIKES!!
I frantically called my friend Joy to see if she could watch the kids.
She wasn't answering.
Tried another friend, same thing.
Panic mode was setting in.
I still needed to pick up swim team carpool, drop them off and still DRIVE
to the hospital which would take 30 minutes in itself.
Joy called me back and said she could watch my kids. Phew!
I hauled it to Brimhall, ran in and literally yanked the kids out of the water and
told them to run to the car!!
I rushed them to Joy's house, sped to the hospital, screeched into a parking spot and ran inside.
My mom was sitting in the foyer saying they wouldn't let her back to see Marcie.
She was starting to get worried when the nurse came out said we could go on back!
It was so crazy seeing HER in that hospital bed.
Kind of nice that I wasn't the one getting ready to have a baby:)
I was in charge of taking pictures.
I felt a little nervous, hoping I didn't miss anything important!
Things went really fast.
About 20 minutes after arriving at the hospital little miss Scarlett was here!
And when I say little, I mean it!
She weighed 5 /lbs and I think around 10 oz.
Such an adorable lil peanut!!
I didn't want to give her up!
I had to leave to take the kids to swim lessons.
It was amazing how it worked out that I was able to be there on no notice.
I even had mascara on which is unheard of for me in the summer!
We came back later that night so the kids and Casey could meet her.
I love this picture. Lindi LOVES babies.
Only the look on Lindi's face is like she is realizing that Marcie
has a new buddy taking her spot.
Welcome to the world miss Scar Fig!

I remember panicking once I realized how fast things were going and I grabbed Austin and was like CALL SHELLEY! I was worried you wouldn't have enough time to get there but it was meant to be!! And I'm so glad your kids love "Carlett" it's so fun to see them want to help with her. Love you guys!
