New Years Eve at Gordons Well!
It was that time of year again!
And boy were the boys ever excited.
Mainly to be able to use their Christmas present they got.
I was nervous how much arguing would happen since they get to share the quad.
First we had to get there.
It was Della's first road trip.
Originally we were all going to cram in the truck
and caravan with the Bartons.
Last minute I freaked out and had Casey drop me and Della off at my parents.
They had an RV they were taking up.
I figured Della would have a better ride up and could be out of her car seat.
That decision ended up not being the best.
We left about 30 minutes after Casey dropped me off.
In that 30 minutes, there was an accident on the freeway.
Yep, see that traffic jam?
We sat in the same spot for a good couple of hours.
Good thing she could sleep comfortably.
I even dozed off.
When I woke up we were in the same spot!
After we got through the traffic and could finally cruise, we were halted with a flat tire!
It was nearing 10pm.
I love that my dads old and new businesses can equip you with any attire.
Orange safety vests, no problemo.
Canyon State Oil has got you covered!
I was watching them work on the backup camera.
At one point sparks were flying from the welder.
I was getting nervous when 40 minutes went by and they were still out there!
They all piled back in and on we went... for only a few miles.
Back out they went to adjust some things.
FINALLY after 8 hours on the road, we arrived safely.
Crazy how leaving 30 minutes earlier can change your destination time from the other person.
When I arrived Casey had all the beds set up and the kids were coming from the Taj mahal
(Bartons mansion trailer. It was nicer than my house!).
We put them to bed.
Her rock n play fit perfectly in the hallway to our "master" suite.
And luckily she was sleeping through the night;)
She slept as snug as a bug on a rug in our rental trailer.
Good job baby girl.
Bright and early the next morning those boys were in their element!
Riding non stop I tell you.
I sat in my chair and watched away!
New Years Eve at the drags!
Misty doesn't have any daughters so she loves to snuggle on ours;)
And Abbey doesn't have any babies (yet), so she loves to steal mine!
Kevin brought all the bells and whistles for the boys quads.
Plus some fireworks!
The next morning the Evans and my mom joined the party!
It was a drizzly day.
Which I didn't mind one bit because for the first time in history there was no WIND at the dunes!!
Wind and sand is the pits.
I'll take rain any day.
Lindi was ecstatic to have her buddy with her!
I was sure happy to see them ( as well as my leg, she is a clinger).
Olive makes my life so much easier.
My first ride of the trip.
This was funny.
The boys would run those quads for hours, until they literally ran out of gas.
Riley came riding up saying Rusty was stranded.
Next thing we see is Kevin throwing his 7 year old a tow rope and saying figure it out, HA!
Here is Ryley pulling Rusty into camp...backwards!
More towing...
The rain started coming down pretty good.
A perfect time for some cards!
The most beautiful rainbow appeared after it stopped.
A FULL rainbow non the less!
If we don't look like the epitome of camping...
She finally got enough courage to take a ride in the RZR
Lunch at Duners Diner
The whole gang!
Even though the RV drive up was fun and all, I decided to
drive home with my family.
Here we all are, snug as a bug on a rug... or in a truck;)
