Finally the kids were excited about an activity we had planned!
Plus it involved more cousins!
Leah and her kids drove down from Idaho to hang with us this day!
There was lots of anticipation for rafting the Snake River!
There were about 4 other groups in different rafts.
We completely maxed out ours, we were loaded to the gills!
Then they gave us the smallest guide!
I wonder if she was quietly freaking out, because I was, lol!
Here she is telling Lane and Collin, our lead paddlers, that no matter what,
NEVER stop paddling during a rapid!!
NEVER stop paddling during a rapid!!
Lets continue to see of they listened...
Our first taste of getting splashed.
It was COLD!!
SO glad we splurged for the wetsuits!
Oh our innocent faces...
Heading straight into the Big Kahuna, the big daddy rapid.
See our guides smile...
... turn into complete HORROR!!
Pretty sure this is when our lead paddlers stopped doing their job!
Our guide said this is where we basically folded in half.
She later admitted she thought we were cooked, ha!
She later admitted she thought we were cooked, ha!
Somehow we unfolded and got out of it.
In the process it popped the raft and catapulted our guide out of her
seat and almost to Idaho!!
Look at her face!
She could barely believe what just happend!
She could barely believe what just happend!
It was a wild ride, with excellent views of the beauty all around.
SURVIVORS!
Lunch at a favorite, Bull Moose Lodge.
We were still thawing out from the frigid river water, ordering hot chocolate in July
is unusual.
Rafting famishes you!
I feel ya, Tanner. Wings hit the spot sometimes!
Finishing the day at the Afton temple!
Casey and I played whiffle ball with the littles while the rest did baptisms!
Always ice cream after the temple, always!
