Back To Working Hard!

Lane hit his one year mark in the mission field!
We all can hardly believe it, including Lane!

I guess burning your shirt is still a thing.

Della had her meet the teacher night.
She got Mrs. Sanders, just like Lindi.

She has been a teacher for as long as we have been going to Franklin,
so she will be in good hands!

With the help of Tiffany Sheridan, we executed the Back To School teacher luncheon!

Since it was the 250th birthday of America, we took on that theme!
It also helped that there were lots of discounted decorations:)

We served mini pulled pork sliders, mac n cheese, coleslaw and watermelon.

I made fruit compotes to make fancy lemonades.

I picked up Pied Piper Bakery for the yummy desserts!

Just like that, it was the start of another school year!
It gets easier as they grow older.

You still have a tinge of worry sending them off the first day.
It was good reports all around!

Rusty's Junior year

We were playing games on a Sunday evening when we got a knock on the door.
It was Faviola and Camilla from the ward.

They had just returned from Mexico, and had a big bag full of candy
they wanted to share with us!

It was funny trying the different varieties.
 But it was unanimous,
Mexican candy is GROSS!

We showed Lane and he said we were talking gibberish, that was
mostly good stuff, haha.

Last minute Brin Glovers mom threw together a surprise birthday gathering
at Swig for her birthday.

Life of teenage girls.

Casey's cousin, David, was in town for work.
We took him with us to dinner.
We miss having the Kovacs around!

The amount of times I catch him sleeping in a chair or funny positions...

Golf is in full swing!
We love it.

We grab Sonic drinks and party in the golf carts.
You forget how brutally HOT it gets in August and September.

Sitting in the shade is unmanageable, and driving to the next hole
feels like you are battling a blow dryer!

These boys are troopers!

We have been chipping away at the new house.
Boy, this a HUGE undertaking!

Starting from scratch is no joke.
Especially when it is a custom home.

It is all you.
If you hate it, its your fault!!

Right off the bat we discovered a major problem with the property lines
being 18 ft off.

Our architect hasn't been the easiest to work with.

But there have been blessings along the way.

We LOVE our neighbors and we scored the BEST designer who has
been SO helpful in the decision making process.

I don't know what I would do without Lori!

Our humble by hand sketch of our floor plans.

AI is amazing to help see things come to life.
This in not the official elevation.
But it helped let us know we were on the right track!

I can hardly believe this will one day be our HOME!!
It still seems so far out and not official.

I never thought this could or would be our reality.
We have made under 2,000 sq ft work for 22 years.

I feel guilty at times we are able to build a dream home for us.
What a blessing this home will be for us and to share with others!
