Life is Good moments

We made it to Summer!
Little did I realize we had about 3 days of nothing on our schedule before
all the summer hoopla began!
On memorial day we took the kids to see Jungle Book.
I don't know what it was, but I was soaking in this simple activity.
Everybody was pleasant and in a good mood.
Even Lindi was digging the movie.
I just sat and kept thinking, life is good.

Rusty kept begging and begging to play Rummikub.
I kept pushing it off and off!
It isn't a simple game.
Finally I gave in.
And much to my surprise, he was really good!
I have a game buddy now:)

This seems to be the spot where she likes to crash.
Usually after getting home late from some sort of activity or gathering.
Getting her up ain't no easy feat!

Like I said, our easy summer mornings were short lived.
We quickly jumped into the schedule of summer band for Lane,
straight to swim team for Rusty, then all the way across town for Lindi's swim lessons!
Lindi would cart her Easter basket full of princess figurines around the sweltering
Mesa town to keep herself entertained.

She must have been pooped and crashed in her carseat.
She doesn't transfer without waking up.
It was too hot to leave her without the air on.
So I got a good 1.5 hours of Netflix in while she napped in the driveway:)

The kids enjoyed summer Grammy camp!
It was Dr. Seuss themed.
Grammies creativity took it to a whole new level!
She split it up into age groups.
Here was the boys group.

Lindi and I hit the mall while they were gone.
She saw the carousel in the window while walking from the parking lot and asked what it was.
You could see the spark in her eyes.
I told her if we could go to 2 stores then I would take her for a ride.
No need to go to Disneyland, she thought this was about the coolest thing on the earth!

Lindi got her turn at Grammy camp the following week.

I figured it was time for documentation of the bump.
22 weeks.
Excuse the bra and tums I just noticed, lol!

I was hoping I could talk Rusty out of competing in his swim meet.
Failed.
But this second place smile makes up for the sweaty cheering crew.

I went a little cray cray and dyed Lindi's hair pink!
After I applied her color, there was a lot left in the bowl.
So I went ahead and colored mine pink as well!
Casey was at girls camp, so it was a fun surprise for him to come home to.
Lucky for us, he actually really liked it!!
Purple is next on our list:)

Jefferson had a birthday so we continued with his tradition of pedicures and sushi!

Casey's mom treated us to Newsies at gammage!
I don't think I have ever seen the musical all the way through before, but
I sure have always loved the music!

All the preggos.
Only Bre was the lucky one to be holding her baby, not still growing her baby:)

Last day of school was a DOOZY!

It was a fast and furious year.
After Spring Break I think I checked out.
Scratch think, I KNOW I checked out!
It seemed like I could hardly keep my head above water.
I would survive a day.
Then the next day seemed ridiculously crazier than the other!
I basically lived in my car.
Nights were late with baseball games.
I was literally Nemo chanting, just keep swimming.

I didn't realize how frazzled I was until I was sitting at the bus stop
waiting for the boys.
I started reading an article off of facebook called "Worst End of the Year Mom Ever".
It was a mom who was surviving the end of the school year trauma and was not
holding back her true feelings on the matter.
Child who that morning says they need to be dressed up as the character of a book.
All about Me poster the last week of school.
Not checking homework folders.
Deciding which child to focus more effort on when it came to school work.
Counting auditory reading instead of real reading with your kindergartner.
When she mentioned another situation that came about,  she became exasperated and said
What fresh hell is this?
I lost it. I started laughing uncontrollably.
Couldn't breath kind of laughing.
But then weirdly, I started crying!!
Like sobbing crying.
This is me!!!
I am limping, limping across the finish line.

Just the prior night I had had it!
We got home late from Rusty's game.
I think it was 8:30.
Nobody had eaten dinner yet.
I was trying to gather everybody to eat and get them the heck to bed.
Then there was a knock on the door.
It was a man from our ward wanting to talk to Casey.
Of course the kids thought this was a chance to break free and do whatever they wanted.
And I was done. SO DONE!
After the first fake polite holler out to the street for them to please come in and eat,
my tone started to change.
Finally I just yelled at the top of my lungs,
IF YOU DON'T COME IN NOW YOU WILL GO
TO BED HUNGRY!!
Ya, didn't even care that the man was still there listening to me scream at my children.
And guess what. They still didn't come inside.
Nobody got dinner that night:/
The tears of starvation didn't even bother me.
Ha, mom of the year award.
See, limping!

So here we were, the last day of school.
Booya!!

I went to help Rusty with his class party.
They were singing the cutest song.
It helped push away stressed out feelings seeing him so happy in his classroom.
I little guilt started to creep in with my insane behavior the past couple of weeks.

The party was actually the day before school got out.
On the last day they had their Kinder sing in the auditorium.

He had quite the entourage!

Mrs. Johnson, his teachers aid.

Mrs. Stradling, THE best teacher EVER!
Love, love, lover her!!

After his performance they were able to go home with their parents.
We had a couple of hours before Lindi had her swim lessons and then go to the last
part of Lanes party at the school.
Krazy Air sounded fun so we went there.

They jumped for a good hour while I sat on my rear in exhaustion.
Here is where the story gets a little TMI.
The day before I was leaking a lot of fluid.
I didn't think much of it.
If I woke up the next day and it still continued I would call the doctor.
That morning I was a little bit.
When I stood up at Krazy Air to buy them subs for lunch I felt a big gush.
Started to panic.
I called my OB's office while standing in line with kids running everywhere.
Since it was Thursday I knew the office would be closed the next day until Monday.
I figured I would just ask the signs for your water leaking or even breaking.
The lady on the phone asked me how far along I was.
I said 19 weeks.
She said hold one minute please.
Ok.
Lady back on the phone, um ya, you need to go straight to the ER.
If it is your water leaking it is very dangerous.
Seriously??
I was just calling for advise and maybe a quick check at the office.
Not the hospital!!
Ugh.
I got the sandwiches to go.
Threw the kids in the car.
Dropped them off at my moms and drove to the hospital.
After a 4 hour stay.
Casey leaving work early.
An ultra sound and pelvic check, I was fine.
Sometimes if the head is far down it can push on your uterus and cause leakage.
I had no idea.
At least I got to sneak another peek at our cutie during the ultra sound.

Lindi missed her swim lesson.
My mom was sweet enough to go down to the school to pick up Lane.
She also is good to take lots of pictures!

Like I said, a doozy of a last day of school!
But it was a great year.
Even though I epically failed the last few weeks.
Luckily kids are oblivious to stressed out moms.
Well, I hope they are!!

Wrapping up the school year

With the weather turning hot, the neighbor kids played as much kickball as they could!
This April night was even on the chilly side.
Casey decided to play after doing yard work.
Here he is trying to out kick the ball from a girl.
She plays club soccer and is good.
I couldn't stop laughing at his execution.

Lets get a closer look:)
It looks like he is doing a ballet move!
He blamed the work boots on the horrible kick.

Swimming fun with Lucy while they were in town visiting.

We celebrated our 12 year anniversary!
Casey knows the way to my heart, food:)
And one of his lovely poems, also my favorite!

The boys wrapped up another year of Lets Play Music!
For Lane it was his 3rd and last year.
He composed his very own song to play at the recital.
He shocked me with how well he can play!
I was so impressed and proud of my boy who complained every day he had to go to music class!

Lindi started swimming lessons.
Ryder was playing at our house so he got to come along one day.
Popsicles afterwards is a must!

Both of the boys played baseball.
Lane is the one pitching.

Rusty played his first year of coach pitch.
He asks everyday when baseball starts again.

coach Aaron giving him his award

This mothers day survey had me laughing.
Looks like I  need to stay off of my phone more at home, yikes!

We found out we were expecting a baby girl!

Our families didn't know I was pregnant.
So we gave our moms this card as part of their mothers day gift:)
I make the 5th girl to be pregnant on the Goodman side.
Breanna was having her baby that week so luckily we got this picture of us all pregnant at the same time!

We had some photo bombers who thought they were pretty funny.
It actually was pretty funny!:)

Marcie and Jael have also announced their pregnancies so there will be lots of
cousins on both sides!!

Fixer Upper

I haven't been very good about posting updated pictures of our house!
I think its because I say I'll wait until this or that gets finished.
Then I realized, it's pretty much all done!!
I first must say that this could not have happened without my amazing husband!
He is truly a man who does not care or have opinions.
Whenever I was trying to decided on something,
I would ask him what he thought and his answer was always,
whatever make you happy.
Awe, those kind of guys are slim to non to find!
He honestly gave me my dream home.
I wish there was a way to repay him back for all the hard work he put into making
this a dream come true for me!

A year had come and gone from our move in date.
I couldn't believe it.
Since we gutted the whole inside, we took a year off from work.
The outside was horrendous!
Nothing on this house had been updated or fixed in a good 20 years I'm guessing.
I take that back.
The owners before us said they had re done the landscaping out front the year prior.
Say whaa??
Oh, you mean tearing out the grass and putting in a weird
shaped curbing surrounded by kitty litter type rocks?
PERFECT update!
I am one to find the diamond in the rough, so I knew this house had great bones.
Casey and I would always talk about fixing up the outside, but never had a starting date.
One Saturday morning Casey pulled up with the tractor and started demoing.
It was a HAPPY DAY!

Here is the before in all her mint green glory!

bye bye kitty litter that got stuck in your shoes and would get spread through out the whole house.

The funny part was, we really didn't have a plan:/
New concrete or pavers?
New brick or stone?
Paint the brick or stucco?
Shiplap and new brick??
Ugh, the choices were endless.
We had so many guys come to give us bids, sometimes even twice!
In the end we decided to do pavers.
I was nervous.
People wondered why we were doing pavers when Casey does concrete for a living, lol!
I wanted our house to look different than the others on our street.
Not living in an HOA neighborhood, I felt compelled to throw caution to the wind.

So a couple of weeks later, we tore out the driveway!

The pavers I chose were different than what I thought I wanted.
After many trips to the store to weigh my options and driving neighborhoods to get ideas,
I picked 2 different layouts.

The driveway was going to be bold with dark charcoal and a white square paver.
The walk way was more of a mix of the 2 colors and more subtle to the eye.
The more they worked on it, the more I was starting to LOVE IT:)

Once we got the walk way in we realized that the front door was not centered by about 6 inches.
Enough to be noticeable and bug us every time we would pull up to our house.
I'm a girl and figured we were stuck with it.
I guess I was wrong!
Next thing I know, Casey and Russ, our neighbor had a saw and were cutting out the front door!
It was comical. At least to me it was.
I mentally couldn't imagine what they were going to do to fix the problem.
Welp, it was simple.
Take off the baseboard, cut around the door, slide it over and re drywall and then paint.
Voila!!

Next was deciding what materials to use on the house.
Long story short, I picked shiplap:)
Let me also tell you, this was not an overnight project.
It took about 2 months.
And the whole time I was sick as a dog!
I was early pregnant and the most nauseous I had ever been.
Plus I got the flu on top of it.
I remember one day laying on the floor of the living room so sick.
Hair was a mess, house was a mess.
A worker walked in to fix something and I couldn't of cared less what he thought of me
laying dead on the floor.
I'm so glad this part is over with!!

Here is the house with shiplap, not painted yet.

Picking paint colors was easy, because I already knew what I wanted.
WHITE!!
All white.
Trim and all:)
White makes me happy!
The painter wasn't so sure.
He tried to get me to pick another color as accents but I stood my ground.
6 coats of paint later I had my farmhouse almost complete!
I also love the turquoise door and the garage door made the whole thing what it is!

Oh, here is Casey's truck loaded up with new trees and bushes.
It was comical driving down the road with this massive thing in the back!

And the finished product!

Still looking for the perfect wreath and finishing touches.
But this is definitely HOME SWEET HOME!
