What did the mamma turkey say to her naughty son?...

If your papa could see you now, he'd be turning over in his gravy. Haha ok sorry, but we did have a fun Thanksgiving! It was a 2 day event this year spent with my dad's side of the family at the Lindsey family reunion. But before the eating could begin we had to run the 10k turkey trot. Ok fine the 2 mile trot (next year Heather, the 10k is ON!).

This year it was a treat being able to eat our Thanksgiving meal at a stake center because we normally would have to go to Pioneer park (gross, ya I know). They had a fun jumper for the kids and the guys played MANY rounds of speed and it was nice being able to let the kids go free without having to watch them constantly.

Later that night we had a family dance. Yep, we do it the Arkansas way and dance with our cousins. I have been doing this my whole life. I do have to admit though that it is fun gettin jiggy with it.

Marcie dancing with our DJ. He grabbed her and just starting swing dancing with her. He is crazy good and starting flipping her all around and in the air.
My non dancing husband. This is all I could get out of him.
The kids tearing up the dance floor

Since a lot of people come from out of town for this reunion, they like to do a BBQ at the park the next day. Don't mind Lane and his no pants in some of these pictures. The first slide he decided to go down had water at the bottom and he got soaked. My sk8 or die brothers were also trying to teach me some of their skills.

Yeah for Thanksgiving and double yeah that Christmas is almost here now! I already set Christmas up last week but for some reason I have a rule that you can't listen to Christmas music till after Thanksgiving... I have problems I guess.

HELLO...

WHERE DID MY LITTLE BABY GO?

Yesterday my little Laners turned the big 02... I can't even believe it! We had to do a little celebrating so on Monday night we took him to Amazing Jake's. Since the State Fair was a hit for him we figured it would kind of be the same thing, and boy was it! The kid wouldn't even sit down to eat so Casey and I had to eat by ourselves so the other one could go play with him.

Then last night to keep it simple we had a few family members over for some birthday treats. Since Lane doesn't have a favorite cake I made mine, yellow cake with lot's of home made chocolate frosting and Casey made his yummy peach and cashew ice cream. Lane got some fun gifts from everyone. Lane has been HARDCORE into basketball lately, he will actually sit and watch an NBA game hardcore. So Case and I got him a basketball hoop...I think it is a keeper!

Happy Birthday Lane! We love you so much!

Side note: Who watched Biggest Loser last night? WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING AMY! that's all :)

Happy "How"loween!

Here is how we celebrated Halloween weekend. To start it off on Halloween Eve, Jenni and I went to the late night showing of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3! Woohoo! As you can see everybody else was on the ball and saw it opening week except for us and about 8 other girls. Don't worry, I am not obsessed with this movie at all and if you think I am, check out my cousin Leahs blog and you will see what obsessed is.
somebody couldn't control their excitement

I work on Fridays so I was happy I had a reason to dress up this year! Here is some of the Tantrum crew and if you can't figure out what I am supposed to be here is a little clue "Come on Vamanos"...hehe. Thank you Marcie for pruning my wig for me. I think I should stick with my blonde hair for a while though.

Here is my happy, willing, obedient, loving "lil squall" letting me put on his costume for trick or treating. Holy Cow! If anybody has a suggestion on how to get their 2 yr old to wear their costume I am all ears!
Oh ya, let me know if you have any suggestions on picture taking too!Minus the costume drama it was a fun night. Lane loved being towed around in the wagon by grandpa and going to my parents neighbors fun carnival that looked like a black and orange wedding reception. They had fun games to play and yummy treats to eat. We also went to visit Grammy and Pappa for some homemade root beer and of course setting off dry ice bombs.

On Saturday we spent the day at the STATE FAIR! We didn't think we would be able to make it this year but we managed to squeeze it in on the second to last day before it closed. We even scored with buy one get one free admission that we didn't even know about. Lane was a
ride-a-holic so Casey and I had fun switching turns riding the rides with him. Casey even played a game and won him a blow up baseball bat. We gained about 5 pounds each with our foot long corn dogs, strawberry's and cream funnel cakes and ice cream (eating is my favorite part of the fair). Lane loved the animals and we also learned that they have a cow salon at the fair..who would of guessed?!
