Memorial Weekend

This was the first Memorial Day that we have actually been in town for in a long time! I have come to realize that spending holidays at home is just as, if not, more fun! Stephanie and Travis came from NY to bless Collin. I got to meet their little guy for the first time. It was fun being around a baby again and getting to hold and snuggle him. Lane loved his cousin "Tollin" and
can't wait until he can play catch with him. If he had the chance, he would have given him a few good throws:)

On Monday my family went to 2 cemetery's to visit family members . It has always been a tradition on my mom's side to go to the Phoenix cemetery on Memorial Day with extended relatives to visit her grandparents grave and have a little devotional. I haven't been in about 6 years because we usually are not in town. Casey was working so Lane and I went with my family. This time I went it had a little more meaning to me, I don't know why. I really liked what my Uncle Brad shared with all of us. He pretty much just asked us, when we leave this earthly life, how would we like to be remembered? It made me start to think of all the people that I know that have already passed and every single one of them had good, wonderful things about them that had touched my life and other's. It didn't matter if I knew them a long time or never had the chance to meet them. If they lived a short life or long life , their stories and examples left a legacy of good and happiness. Memorial Day has a new special meaning to me now. I know that every Memorial Day to come, it will help me look and see what kind of person I am and help me re-evaluate the things that are most important in life. Have I done anything to better another person? Have I been selfless and Christ like? I hope that I too can leave wonderful memories like those we visited yesterday.

After the Phoenix cemetery, we went to the Mesa cemetery. We visited my great grandparents, my Grandad and sister Melanie.

We also got to visit Gunner. Lane was very excited to bring some toys for his cousin to play with and picked each one out by himself.

after the cemetery's we swam and had a yummy BBQ

after watching this bad example:

Lane got a little dare devilish and started going crazy wanting to run and jump off anything he could think of. He was having fun until he,

crashed...

... and burned:(

The Best Mom Awards,

Go to these fun, lovin' women!

These two moms are the greatest! It is funny how when I got married I didn't
know I was going to get a mother in law that was just like my mom in
so many ways! They both share a love for DQ, weekly reflexology appointments
with Nancy, a good cup of ice to chew, herbal oil remedy's, spending time with their families,
and too many others things! I also love how they are friends and can chat on the phone or
help one another out. I am truly blessed with two wonderful mothers in my life.
Laners sure loves them too.

Happy Mothers Day!

Golden 5

I love:

*waking up to your notes that you leave for me and Lane before you go to work.
*that you let me tweeze your brows...sometimes.

*that you wash, no DETAIL my car about once a month for me.

* how you come home excited to re-create the most awesome burrito (in your mind)
that the mexicans gave to you at work.

* the funny noises you make in my ear to make me laugh.
* how you fold the laundry meticulously.

* your sweet, tender, giving heart.
* the love you have for brownie and fudge concretes, chocolate chocolate chip muffins
& cherry cheesecake.

* that you pay the bills:)

* hearing your truck pull up to the house.

* your sexy tan line
* cuddling next to you at night while watching tv.

* how you can fall asleep anywhere at the drop of a hat.
* the face you make every time you have to get in a picture. You have become such a trooper!

* everything about you!!!

Happy Anniversary my Stud Muffin!!

Since you are gone tonight, I am most excited to cuddle with my little stud muffin

EGGcellent Easter!

We had a most eggjoying, eggciting, eggstra fun Easter this year!

In our neck of the woods we didn't decorate eggs this year, we ate them instead!

Grammy and Papa had their annual Easter
egg hunt on Saturday. The kids had fun
running around trying to find as many as they
could,

but watch out kids...time for the "grown ups" turn! Here is where it gets intense because there is major $ involved. There is one GOLDEN EGG per couple. Each golden egg has money in it ranging from 100 bucks to 25 bucks. Plus there were 85 regular eggs, who ever collected the most regular eggs gets to go to dinner with Grammy and Papa. Side note: we are doing this with our legs tied together!

I never see Casey get more intense than in this hunt. He made me wear shoes so that we could run faster! I would say we made out good in the end:)

Lastly, here was Lane's ALMOST Easter Sunday outfit. I say almost because Casey thought he looked like a gay golfer. He has STRONG feelings that boys should not wear pink no matter how little is actually on the clothes. The shoes weren't winning him over either so back to the store it is going.

Opening Game

Since my dad took my younger siblings to conference, we scored his awesome tickets to the first
Diamond Backs game of the season!

Dan Majerle even sat a few rows in front of us

Lane, being the fan of baseball that he is, loved every minute of it! He even lucked out and got a picture with Baxter! Everybody sitting by us got such a kick out of watching him.

Another week O FUN!

For starters, Happy Birthday to the " grooviest" mom ever!
My mom/grandma (or Lanes version, mema) turned 47 on Monday.
If you are wondering why I said groovy, well you just have to know her to understand!
Growing up I always had the fun, cool mom who would roll down the car windows while driving and scream as loud as she could or that would blare loud crazy music right when you would get out of the car to get to school or that would lay loud long scratches over speed bumps on purpose and the list goes on and on! The funny thing is she STILL does all this stuff plus more! Read my sister's Stephanie's blog for more stories on this fun CRAZY women! We love you none the less
mom and should thank you for making our lives more exciting growing up!
For her birthday dinner we went to Cheesecake Factory!

I guess a few of her quirks have rubbed off on us:)

On Wednesday we cheered on the Dodgers and the Giants at a spring training game! It was a fun girl/Lane fest. Only of course we spent more time eating, talking, making fun of all the skanky girls or the old shirtless beer gut men then watching the actual game.
One of Melinda's missionary companions came from Idaho to visit. She flew in that day and said her flight was delayed because of a snow storm... I LOVE AZ!

Today we went out to Casa Grande all day where Casey's Aunt and Uncle live. We got to ride their horses, go on tractor rides, Uncle Benny made us a yummy lunch, we even watched a
movie. When Aunt Shirley got home from work we all loaded up in the Rhino to go see their neighbors brand new baby goats.

ALSO, today was another very special birthday. Grandpa or "pa" turned 48! I must say he is
pretty groovy too. I always had the fun, energetic dad who loves to surf, snowboard, ski, go hunting and many more things. Growing up he would always dedicate his Saturdays home from work to his kids. He would take us to Bashas to get doughnuts for breakfast, or go on fun long bike rides or take us to the park and play softball with us. I guess I just lucked out to have the best parents ever!
