Lots of birthday's in November!

Lane turned 8 this year! Sadly I have never eaten lunch at his school with him:/ I don't know why but the thought to do so never crossed my mind. Yikes, bad parent award! We dropped in with some Arby's. Beef N Cheddars, Arby sauce, curly fries and root beer, mm mmm! Rusty thought it was pretty exciting eating with the big kids. Since his big party wasn't going to be until after his baptism in a couple of weeks, he got to choose what restaurant to eat dinner at. He chose Matta's. Mostly because the Scout store was across the street. He was SO EXCITED to be a cub scout! While we waited for our food I walked over and picked up a new shirt, patches and who knows what else. All I know is that you can lose $100 real quick at that store! Then we came home and had cake and ice cream! The following night he had his first official pack meeting! But lucky for him we got to eat at Panda Express with Melinda and Stephen who had dropped by to give him a birthday gift. Funny thing was, on our way to the restaurant we passed by Casey's mom driving in her car. As we were talking to each other out the window (while driving mind you) we told her to pick up Papa and meet us there! It turned out to be 2 fun nights in a row:) (I don't know what the deal is but some pictures got out of place or duplicated, so annoying!)
Rusty's birthday was the following week. And lucky for him his cousin's were in town! We already had a breakfast date set up with my high school friends at Blue Lemon, which just so happens to be Rusty's favorite place to eat! Afterwards, Stephanie ever so kindly took him with her to play at the park, then to Chick-fila AND Dairy Queen!! He was completely spoiled. If it weren't for her he would have been stuck at home watching tv or something. We met up with them later that evening for some fun at Amazing Jakes! I totally blew it and forgot to get him a birthday cake. All kids want to do is blow out birthday candles so I stuck them in a tiny bowl of disgusting vanilla soft serve, ha! He didn't even complain and sat all smiles as we sang to him. It's nice having a child that is easy to please. And both boys were in heaven with their new BIKES!!

Awww, Lane's birthday sounded fun! How funny that you ran into Grandma on the road and she got to come too! And now he's a scrub scrout! Yay!! It really is a $$$ sort of program. So glad we got to party with Rusty on his big day! And SO nice that he was happy as could be with candles in soft serve! Cute boy!
