I am a sun worshiper.
You don't have to pull my arm to get me to the pool.
So on our first week off for Summer we hit up SunSplash!
I ditched the girls at my moms and met up with Stephanie, Justin and the boys!
It was perfect.
I could ride water slides if I wanted or sit back, relax and watch the boys go down.
Life is sure nice ( I guess easier) without toddlers and babies!
Around 4 I got a text message that Stephanie was in labor and at the hospital!
Luckily Casey had already picked up the girls so my mom could be there.
We had a few more hours at SunSplash so I was crossing my fingers I could make
it for the birth!
We stayed till closing, ate at Carolinas then zoomed home to quickly take a shower.
I felt like I squealed into the parking lot at the hospital and did a speed walk to the doors.
She didn't have the baby for a few more hours so I am glad it all worked out!
Here is the adorable Mr. Tanner.
He didn't want to wait for the doctor, he wanted the nurse to work for her paycheck:)
Travis was good to put up with all of us girls.
And now with Tanner, they had 2 for the boy tally!
And now with Tanner, they had 2 for the boy tally!
Forget bringing toys to church, she just wants my lip gloss!
I was on my way to my parents house when all of a sudden a riding
lawn mower popped out from a bush and cut me off!
It was Craig.
He mows the neighbors lawns as a side job.
I sent a text to my family saying, check out this jerk who cut me off!
It actually was pretty funny.
I love when we find our weekends hanging out pool
side with my sibs.
We had many pool play dates with the Evans'.
I think we hit up every public pool in Chandler.
I looked over to see these 2 sucking away on their thumbs together.
Bobbsey twins.
And my happy as clams shells baby.
I ran to the store and when I pulled into the garage half the neighborhood came
running out screaming that Lindi cut her toe off!
Aaron was sweet to come over and assess the crisis.
Just a really bad snagged toe nail.
But I love that our neighbors have our backs! Or toes:)
A really long Summer day calls for lining up all the spices for entertainment!
I turned 34 in July!
Casey knows how much I love swimming, the sun and relaxing.
So my gift this year was a weekend get-away to Scottsdale!
It was perfect.
I love spending one on one time with Casey and it had been awhile since we have
gotten away with just the 2 of us.
We stayed at the Pointe Hilton Tapaptio resort.
I am not a huge breakfast person, but for some reason I love
a good breakfast buffet!
Then vegging by the pool after stuffing your face sure hit the spot!
The only bad thing about staying one night is that you have no where to change since you are checked out of your room.
We made it work by going in the hot, sweaty pool bathrooms with water all over the floor.
Last Chance was down the road.
Poor Casey endured a shopping trip to the craziest store there is to shop at!
Look at him holding my purse and shoes I was torn on buying.
Now that I'm thinking about it, swimming and shopping are probably his 2 least favorite things
to do.
It must be true love:)
We had an early dinner at Cheesecake Factory.
I got my favorite dessert, hot fudge sundae.
Then hit up a movie.
The day after my birthday we went to dinner with the other birthday girls!
We went to Nico's in downtown Gilbert.
Austin surprised us with fancy birthday glasses, necklaces, and tiaras!
Even though we got free dessert at the restaurant, we still needed some DQ!
We invited some neighbors over for dinner and swimming.
The Evans' come over another night as well!
Our pool is anything from fancy, but it gets the job done!
Wild summer baby sporting her staple onsie.
We rented a boat with 2 other families in our ward!
My dream is to have a boat someday.
It had been YEARS since I had been to the lake, so this
was like Christmas or going to Disneyland!
Lindi clung to Macy and Chloe the whole time.
We had to split the group up since we had so many of us.
We used these kayaks to get people back and forth from the beach to the boat.
It was quite hysterical getting it all figured out.
Us girls on the death ride
Macho men...
I love these girls, some of my very best friends!
towards the middle of the day we said screw it with the kayaks and piled everyone in the boat!
All of the kids.
the best boat selfie there ever was!
My mom kindly watched Della for us.
It would have been a totally different experience with her there.
Safe to say she had way more fun with grandma then at the lake!
We have this new tradition of riding up 4 peaks with Travis and Sunni.
Yep, in August. We are crazy!
The temperature drops the higher you go up and with the wind it actually is pleasant!
Last year we made it to the base of the mountain when the RZR engine started smoking.
It was out of oil:/
Travis had to run back to the truck, drive to the gas station to get more oil
which put us back a couple of hours.
This year we joked about making sure it had enough oil.
He assured us it did.
Sure enough we got going and no smoke!
We drive to the other side of the mountain and eat at a restaurant we call "Road Kill Diner".
It is in the middle of nowhere and the appearance of it is pretty sketchy.
But boy do they have amazing hamburgers!
Not nearly big enough to share, wink.
It's pitch black now and we were almost to the top of the mountain when we heard a loud popping noise and the RZR comes to a stop.
The guys hop out and discover that the wheel axle was broken.
ANNND Travis didn't bring his tools like he normally does.
I started to panic.
We were about 8 miles from the truck.
I had the most battery power and mine was at 40%.
But having no cell service didn't help much.
The guys start tinkering around.
They needed a jack but didn't have one.
So yep, Sunni and I became the jack!!
About 20 minutes of them under the RZR and no solution I was about to start walking
for help when in the dark distance we saw headlights!!
3 jeeps with men who... wait for it...work as mechanics for a Ford dealership!!!!
AND had all the right tools.
I could not believe it.
Here they are fixing our problem.
I guess one of the guys used to have the same RZR and had the same problem.
The lug nuts are not build strong enough so they pop off and break if you are
on rough terrain. So he always keeps extra with him.
They had us back on our way!
They were headed to the top for a camping trip.
We couldn't thank them enough.
We gave them some money to buy breakfast in the morning.
We did not see a single sole on that mountain that night except for them.
I have no doubt we were blessed to have run paths with them!
They said we needed to be careful and not put a lot of weight on the front
and to go really slow.
So our new seating situation was Travis in the front driving, Sunni in the middle
and Casey and I in the very back, sitting on the spare tire, lol!
Casey must have gotten uncomfortable so he laid on top of the roof.
It took us a good 1.5 hours to make it back to the truck.
I can't even imagine how long it would have taken us if we had to walk back!!
Needless to say, we might stop this new tradition!
Stephanie and Travis' nephew, Josh, passed away from cancer.
He was only 4 years old:(
I wanted to help in some way but didn't know what to do!
Sunni's sister has a son (so her nephew, also age 4) who was diagnosed with a brain tumor
a couple of weeks after Josh was!
The moms became friends since they were both down at the hospital doing chemo together.
It was an interesting coincidence.
Sunni came up with the idea to do a balloon release at the cemetery.
I offered to help her!
It was quite comical loading 100 balloons into our cars and
trying to set them up...unfortunately on a windy day.
At one point I was chasing a few bundles of balloons across the cemetery
that flew out of my car!
We did 6 big green balloons for his parents and siblings to release since it was his favorite color.
watching those balloons release into the sky took my breath away.
Girlfriend knows how to relax the right way!
She made me laugh by throwing in a silly picture all on her own!
The best part of these girls days was our stroller ride after dinner!
I love how tan they are.
Signs of a Summer lived in the pool.
It must have been a rough day, lol!
