Casey threw out the idea of going to Gallup to visit Stephanie and Travis.
I called her up and 2 days later we were on our way!
Stephanie said that the weather forecast mentioned 20% chance of snow.
And even if it did snow she said chances are it would melt 5 minutes after it landed.
I was kind of bummed because I thought it would be fun to play in it.
Rusty was 3 month old the last time we have even SEEN snow!
We drove up Thursday after Casey got home from work and arrived around 9.
Stephanie was at a meeting but of course she had homemade chocolate chip cookies
right out of the oven waiting for us when we arrived.
It's like staying at Monica's house when we visit:)
She is the best hostess and makes sure we are comfortable and pampered the whole time
we are there! I wish we could host them when they come into town!! Hopefully soon!:)
We chatted for a bit then headed off to bed.
The best surprise was waking up to a snowy winter wonderland!!
We couldn't believe it.
It was breathtaking and almost unrealistic.
The kids couldn't wait to go outside and touch it.
Only they didn't last long outside barefoot.
It got even better.
Collins school was cancelled and was able to party with us all day!
We gathered as much extra snow gear the Evans' had on hand for us to use.
(thank goodness they lived in Buffalo:)
After scraping the snow off of the car,
we then proceeded to Wal-Mart where we scoured the place for any remnants of snow clothes and
gloves they had left in stock. Which wasn't much!
Lane got to wear some nifty irrigation boots and Lindi got some little boy track pants that
were water proof!
We found some nice hills in a park nearby and had the time of our lives!
Well, this little girl wasn't enjoying it so much.
She had to be held. If she wasn't being held she was crying!
Waaaaaa, what am I supposed to do in this white, cold, fluffy stuff??
If you are wondering where the super cute crocheted beanies came from, they were hand made by Stephanie. I told you she is like Monica!
Casey and I started a snowball fight with each other.
Of course he thought he was dominating me.
About 10 minutes after our war over, his back was turned to me and I couldn't resist slamming
a big snow ball in face from behind. I got him good!! But then had to run for my life because
he was chasing me down. He tackled me to the ground and started burring my head in the snow!!
I should have known better!
I was trying to get a picture of his cute muffed up beanie hair:)
Later that afternoon we got to visit Travis at work and get our teeth cleaned!
Rusty needed a cavity filled.
Lane was happy it wasn't him having to get numbed up this time!
Hehehe, his cheek was feeling fat and numb.
These 2 girlies where so cute in their jammies.
I like how they are looking at the crazy moms in the background jumping up and down trying to
get their attention for a picture!
Got to take advantage of a free snack right in the backyard!
Travis spiffed up a sweet ramp in the backyard.
There is a slide underneath the snow.
We enjoyed eating out one night WITHOUT kids!
And then watching Troop Beverly Hills and eating blizzards after they went to bed.
I HAD to post this.
Even though she may not appreciate it.
It is always a dance party at aunt Stephanie's house!
And we made it to the movies to see Paddington!!
What a fun weekend it was!
Until Lindi woke up Sunday morning barfing and we had to pack up and leave
a few hours earlier then planned.
Luckily we didn't spread it to them.

I love that you & Stephanie are still so close! It's so fun seeing pics of your cute kids playing together. How fun to have a snow surprise! You got some really great pictures!
You were so nice to me in this post! I don't deserve it! Being compared to Monica does make me laugh. I'll totally own that, because you are "Rachel" and we all know we all want to be Rachel! :) It really was SO FUN having you visit. I've actually thought about that as the only downside if we are able to move to Mesa. I've always really liked when you've come to see us! I'm so glad it snowed like it did! Fun surprise and made it more of a memorable trip for the kids I'm sure. So sad that Lindi started barfing though. :( Robbed us of one more day. Just grateful you're willing to drive to super cool Gallup to see little ol' us! We loved it!
