The most wonderful week of the YEAR!!

We waited till the very last week of summer to head out to our most
favorite place on earth, Oceanside!!
It was going to be party.
Everybody was coming this year.
Plus we had 2 new babies, and Abbey:)
(she survived and still decided to marry David afterwards. Guess she is ok with our craziness!)

I was excited to meet baby Lucy for the first time!
You can only Skype so many times before you want to jump through the
screen to hold the cute chubber girl!!
They flew in the night before we left so I just HAD to go over to my
parents, even though we would see them the next day in CA.
Oh my goodness, it was a fight over who got to hold her!
Lane, believe it or not, is a baby hog!!

We all arrived around the same time to the beach house...
and it only took 6 cars to get us all there!
Literally before we even started to unpack the boys were begging to play outside.
It is nice that they are older and I don't have to worry as much about them.
I told them yes, but not go over the rocks to the water.
They got busy digging that massive hole and disrupting the birthday
party on the beach.

Then next thing I know they are swimming in the ocean!
It's like the ocean was beaconing them to come in.
Oh well, can't blame them.

We put the kids to bed then a group of us scouted out for some late night ice cream!
It only took 3 tries to find a place open past 9pm...LAME!!

The next day was Sunday and time to visit our vacation Oceanside 2nd ward!
It's funny how we are starting to look recognizable when we attend.

These 2 girlies are adorable.
Get ready for Olive and Lindi picture overload!

The babies were a hot item during church.
And it is waaaay more fun to walk the halls when its not your kid:)

Grandma hopped in our car and Lindi had ripped out her hair, bah!
I don't know what it is but if Lindi doesn't have her hair up and out of her face it
drives. me. bonkers!!

I don't know how this started but Marcie had an entourage of BOYS
lining up to get their nails painted.
I guess they wanted their tootsies nice and pink for the beach that week!:)

Tradition has it that we take a Sunday walk to the beach.
Which of course turns into soaking wet kids after we say no playing in the water!

Oh girl...

These pics were comical!
Lucy is only 2 months older than Scarlett.
Lucy is saying, get in my belly!

games, games and more games!!

Finally, a full beach day had arrived!

He was digging his new speedo that Dallin gave him.
It was meant to wear UNDER his swimsuit to prevent
sand build up and chaffing.
I am glad he has no shame in his figure:)

Marcie was such a good sport about all the "helpers".

These next few pictures are what I like to call,
"Expressions of Kan Jam"
Here we have:

" I'm Going to (double fist) Pump, You Up!"

"The Mocker"

"Raise the Roof"

"One Too Many Drinks Stumble"

Nothing better than warm sun on your skin.
Seriously, its like therapy for me.

Monday night is always dinner at the harbor.
With thrifty ice cream for dessert.

More beach fun!

Tuesday was swim suit is optional day.
I was the only one brave enough to go in the nude!
Stephanie was coming out of the ocean when she said it looked like I was naked!
I should try out for the reality show, Naked and Afraid:)
Because afraid everybody would be!!

Stephanie took the girls a shower and did their hair matchy, matchy.

I would catch Lane picking up a baby and holding them all on his own.
It was super sweet to watch!

We took a break from the beach on Wednesday and headed into
San Diego. Stephanie told us about the Donut Bar which
has been featured on Diners, Drive-In's and Dives.
I love me a good donut so I was stoked.
Boy howdy, just standing in line I knew
we would need to get one of each kind!

I think between all of the families we ordered 3 dozen!

I cant resist a good photo bomb opportunity!

We then headed to the USS Midway.
We had been there before but Lane was a baby.
I thought the boys would love to go inside the big ship and see
the airplanes on the top deck.

Lunch at a yummy Mexican place ended the fun afternoon!
I wonder what people think what kind of big group we are when
we eat at a restaurant. Big families like this are rare, especially outside of
 Mesa!

bean burrito's, enchilada style are Lanes love language.

the rest of the day we hung out at the beach house, played games, and ate more
junk!

The next morning we took our kids to a cute little diner we have been eying over the years.
Route 66, it was GOOOD.
Bomb milkshakes.
Legit chicken strips with thick, creamy homemade ranch.
20 egg omelets that fills the whole plate.
We will be returning.

I walked into this cute nap session and got a little jealous!

Ripple with CONSEQUNCES, wahoo!!!

Due to peer pressure I went into the ocean for the first time in 10 years!
I hate, HATE being wet and cold!
The first seconds took my breath away!
Once I was half in there was no turning back.
 The waves we FIERCE!!
Like, knocking us over strong!
You can barely see Marcie's head below my mom as she got taken out by a wave.
Look and David pointing his finger and mocking us!

pizza on the beach on the last night tradish!

Collin had us cracking up at Phil's.
They had some serious twangy Jazz music playing and
he was feeling the beat.
A fork came close to a guitar !

My mom joined his band and staring playing along!

Another great vacy in Oceanside in the books!!

That "naked" pic of you is hilarious! And those pictures of the waves knocking you over had me laughing out loud too! I always love seeing the adorable Lindi & Olive together. They are seriously the cutest. I'm so glad that you had such a great trip!
