Another week in Oceanside Paradise

It was that time of year again.
Beach time!
This year was a little bit different.
We went with some of Casey's siblings instead of with my family.
My family decided to go to Oceanside during Fall break this year.
We'll see if we can swing making that trip with the baby being due the week after.

We stayed and the cute blue house that is one of my favorites.
The other families have been to Oceanside many times,
but never in a beach house RIGHT on the water.
I was excited for them to experience the difference.
There is nothing like it.
Pure heaven.

We caravanned with Travis and Sunni.
Stephanie was driving from Idaho.
With a stop at Phil's BBQ  in San Diego, we were almost to our
home away from home for a week!

Of course the second we pulled up the kids were begging to go down to the water.
How do you say no?!

The sun was setting and that high tide splashing up... magical.

These 3 we so fun.
They learned the terrain pretty quick and had a blast going up and down the stairs to our
backyard to play.

After unpacking, us girls hit up Walmart for provisions!
2 hours and $700 later we were set!
Before we left Casey and Travis kept saying that they could go to the store for us.
Pretty sure if they did they would have come home with half of what we bought.
We sent this picture to them and they about died.

You cant see the bags in the middle seat, it was comical!
In fact it was so jam packed full that when I had to make a sudden stop, a 24 pack of soda slid and wacked Sunni in the head. Whoops! We couldn't stop laughing.
It was late and we were slap happy at that point.
but, the good news was that we ate pretty much ALL of that food!
We were proud of ourselves:)

The next day was Sunday.
Instead of church we hopped on the train and rode into San Diego to the Mormon Battalion.
We have never done this before and it was really fun and quite an adventure.
Especially when the trained slowed down and we could see FBI and news anchors and caution tape out the window.
They had found a burned body under the highway overpass and they were investigating it.

I hadn't been to the Mormon Battalion in 20 years.
I don't really remember it but I guess they remodeled it.
The kids loved it.

We walked to a Mexican restaurant to eat afterwards then caught a train back home.
We played games and vegged the rest of the afternoon.

She never falls asleep besides in her bed.
This was a special treat:)

Happy 4th of July!!
We made a yummy patriotic breakfast.
Overnight French toast with berries and whipped cream.

This made me smile.
I was outside on the balcony and spotted these two playing.
Happy as clams.

We spent the rest of the day at the beach!!

We went in a little bit early so we could get ready to go watch the fireworks.
We had pizza delivered to the beach house, hit up Rite Aid for ice cream cones (we went almost every night),
then we drove down to the beach by camp Pendleton where the fireworks were going to be.
We set out our blankets, got out the glow sticks, and tried to confine the kids from running around in the sand because they were all showered and clean.

Beach day again!

For dinner that night we grilled carne asada and had the YUMMIEST tacos.
These kids scarfed them down.
All day at the beach gave them big appetites.
I love this picture of them all lined up.

We also roasted smores for dessert.

The next morning we slept in and hung out at the beach house.
Some went to Mary's for breakfast.
We played games and these 2 made us some cookies:)

Around noon we hit up the beach until it got dark.

Leave it to these big kids to create awesome sand scaping!

I was walking up the stairs and this melted my heart.

It was nice having Sunni there, the braid master!

We did not plan to have them wear matching swim suites!
We all happened to have the same ones!
Day 4 beach time!

Baby bottle pops were a hit.
Every night when we would get ice cream, we had to stock up on more baby bottle pops.

This was the last beach day, waaaa.
We ordered this game on Amazon and had it shipped to the beach house.

More baby bottle pops for these big babies:)

Instead of Rite aid, we made shakes to use up all the candy we hadn't eaten, lol!
These 2 are serious when it comes down to their dessert.
It was fun to see them together for a whole week.
2 peas in a pod I tell ya!
In fact, for a good 5 minutes I was talking to Travis in the kitchen thinking the whole time it was
Casey!!!
Haha, it was trippy.

Moo moo mamas!
Sunni bought us these matching moo moo's to wear all week.
They were so comfy!
I'm now addicted to them:)

When we were packing up one of the kids found this dvd my mom left behind a few years ago!

Our car is white trash, literally!
We had to haul out all of our garbage.

Another stop at Phil's on the way home.
You can never eat enough of it.

And in Yuma a trip at DQ.
I don't have a picture.
But while on vacation you eat as much as you can!

It was an awesome trip, couldn't have gone better.
Easy going  and go with the flow, no itinerary.
Quality cousin time is the best.
We'll never forget the good time it was!
