A Very MAGICAL day!!

One of the best things we ever did in life was move next door
to the Whitmer family.

They have 3 daughters, Amber, Anna, and Avery, who have turned into big sisters to my girls.
My boys sure love them, too!

I think one of the biggest things I appreciate as a mother, or one the kindest gestures,
are people who genuinely love babysitting my children.
Lets face it, us moms need all the help we can get!
Asking for babysitters is not my favorite thing.
I feel guilty.
I hate making people feel put out.
I'm sure they would rather do other things or hang out with friends.
Not with them.
The 6 years we have lived in our home, they have clocked
in a LOT of babysitting hours.
And do it with a sincere, wanting heart.

Which makes me happy that they love my kids so much!
Let me tell you, my kids feel that love, too.
They can tell who puts in the extra effort to love on them, or when it feels like a chore.
Quality time really is a thing!

Even better, they babysit while Casey and I go out of town.
The BIGGEST blessing of it all!!
Overnight sitters are very rare to find.
But they almost jump at the chance.
Makes me kind of teary, actually.
Time together with Casey is sacred.
Being able to leave knowing my kids are being well taken care of makes
it easier for us to enjoy ourselves while we are away and allow us to reconnect.

Beyond babysitting, most of the time you can find them next
door hanging out even when I am home!
They have their own set of different things over, it's kind of hysterical!
I can honestly say I could not survive our busy, crazy life without them!

Lets not forget Miche, their mom, is golden, too.
In fact, she helped Lindi with her homework every week this past school year.
Goodness, plus numerous other things I could go on about.
She loves them like her own.
It's a wonderful thing.

Grateful for my sisters and Mom who also willingly jump in
to save us in our need of babysitting!
It really does take a village.)

I'm not going to talk about how sad we are that things will be majorly changing
at the end of this Summer.

Amber will leave on her mission, and Anna will be going to college in Idaho.
What are we going to do without them?!
We are in denial.

I was trying to think of what I could do to show my gratitude for everything
they have done for us, and continue to do for us.

Nothing says thank you like a day at DISNEYLAND!!
I talked to Miche to see what day would work best for them.
With a few clicks on the computer, it was set!

We had 3 weeks to keep it a secret.
Mainly so I wasn't being asked constantly "when are we going to Disneyland?"

The big day finally came!
Miche told her girls a few days before so they could figure things out with
school since we were playing hooky that day.

Our flight was at 7:45 in the morning, so I snuck in the girls room and tried to wake
the sleeping bears at 5:30 to get them ready.
They were pretty out of it.
Once I showed them their Disneyland shirts, and they started waking up more,
the excitement ensued!

We walked out to the truck while the Whitmers were walking out of their front door.
They asked if they could come with us and the look on my girls faces were PRICELESS!

They saw they had the same shirts on and knew it was really happening!

Della had been asking to go on an airplane for months.
This was an extra fun part for her!

I think she never let go of anyone's hand!

Disneyland, here we come!!

Sweet thing even caught a quick nap before landing.

We landed and hopped in the taxi line.
We had to split into 2 taxi's.
Our driver was the best!!
He was zipping through that CA freeway like it was a walk in the park.
He even asked if we needed a ride back to the airport.
He gave me his number and told me he would be waiting for us at the same spot he
dropped us off at. So convenient!

From our flight at 7:45 we were at the gates at 9:30 on the dot!
So incredible.

The BEST part of this trip, was that this was all of the Whitmers
very first time at Disneyland, ever!
I was so excited to get this party started for them.

We made it!!

These purple blossoming trees were everywhere and so beautiful!
Springtime at Disney is the best.

Hitting all the iconic photo ops!

Rain was predicted all day, such a bummer.
About 30 minutes into the park, our first drops started coming down!
These girls looked pretty adorable in their pink rain gear.

First ride of the day, Space Mountain!

The new Disney genie app for "fast passes' had gotten some bad reviews.
I was pretty nervous about being the one in charge of getting our scheduled times to cut the lines.
Especially since it was my first time using it.
I wanted to squeeze in as much as I could since we only had 1 day!

Luckily it wasn't too tricky at all!
Before I knew it we were cranking out ride after ride with little
wait times in line!
My review of the genie app was A+ and worth every penny!!

The rain really started coming down!

A good time to take cover and have some lunch!
I wanted to make sure they experienced all of the food and Disneyland, too!

Miche was hyped about getting a big pickle, lol!
We found one for her!

After lunch the clouds went away and were pretty dry for the rest of the afternoon!

The biggest win was that Della was finally tall enough to ride Indiana Jones!
I had prepped her that she may not be able to ride it.
Her happy pose she could join everyone else!

We grabbed corn dogs on the way out.
It was such a FUN day!
I think my favorite part was hearing their comments after every ride and seeing the
expressions on their faces.
Even if it was Winnie the Pooh I could hear them say, that was the best ride ever!!
Haha.
That is one thing I love about these girls.
They don't expect much and ALWAYS have the best attitudes.
I hope my girls learn many things from them.

Della, such a cheeser.

We found our taxi driver right where he said he would be!
I even got his number so I could use him again in the future, lol!
They are still really hurting for business from covid and need the work.

Smiles from a wonderful day with wonderful girls.

I am convinced that a day trip is THE WAY to do Disneyland!
No luggage, and with cheap flights it is very reasonable since you don't spend it on gas or a hotel.
We never felt tired and got pretty much every ride in that wanted to, plus rode
a few rides twice!

We were walking to the sky tram to get back to the truck when I saw our neighbor, Judy, sitting
with her phone plugged into the wall talking to someone.
They had just flown in from back East and their car was broken!
Long story short, we were going to give them a ride home (their car was only one isle down from
ours), but the tow truck came faster than they thought!
So funny!
